Hyaluronic acid injections – what is this procedure about
Facial contouring is the injection of hyaluronic acid-based drugs (fillers) into the skin. The procedure is very popular and is performed by many clinics in Ukraine.
All facial structures are subject to aging and age-related changes. This process includes changes in bone structures, thinning of the muscle-aponeurotic layer (abbreviated as SMAS) and loss of the fat layer. All this causes the formation of the effect of a tired face and a tired appearance. One of the ways to reverse this process without surgery is to perform facial contouring.
The facial contour plastic procedure is also called “contour lifting”, “introduction of fillers” or “vector lifting”. When performing contour plastic surgery, fillers are injected into the deep layers of the skin, where they fill the lost volumes, which allows the skin to return to its former elasticity and color.

During the procedure, fillers based on hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite are injected into the skin. These components do not interact with the body, they are absolutely safe. They are also approved by the The United States Food and Drug Administration.
Recommendations for the procedure:
- 2 days before the planned facial contouring procedure, stop taking anticoagulants;
- if the patient takes any drugs, it is necessary to inform the doctor during the consultation.
Recommendations after the procedure:
- within 7-10 days after contour plastic surgery, it is necessary to refuse visiting the sauna, bath, taking a hot bath or shower;
- during the day after the introduction of fillers, it is not recommended to use decorative cosmetics;
- physical activity should be limited for ten days after contour plastic surgery;
- It is not recommended to sunbathe in a solarium or in the open sun for 7 days.
Before starting the procedure, the doctor finds out whether the patient has any contraindications:
- pregnancy or breastfeeding;
- general malaise, presence of temperature or signs of a cold;
- exacerbation of chronic diseases;
- oncology, diabetes;
- presence of keloid scars and tendency to atrophic tissue changes;
